Player Arrival

Report Date

Players and coaches will report on or about June 11, 2024, with practices scheduled for the day after arrival. If a player anticipates that they will be arriving late, they must notify their General Manager.

Traveling to Long Island by Air

If players travel via an airline to Long Island, please plan to arrive at Islip’s Long Island MacArthur Airport. Southwest Airlines provides service to MacArthur Airport. A representative from the team should arrange to pick them up at the airport. Players should send a copy of their travel itinerary so we can make the necessary arrangements.

If a player is arriving at Kennedy, LaGuardia, or Newark Airports, they will be responsible for transportation from the airport to the Hamptons. We can recommend a taxi service if needed.

Host Families

Our host families open their homes to players out of the goodness of their hearts. They do not receive compensation for providing this service. Players from out of the area are assigned to a host family based on the following criteria:

• Does the player have any allergies and or medical conditions?
• Does the player have a car?
• Is the player working a job?
• Does the host family have a specific preference for a type of player?

Occasionally colleges will send us several players. Frequently players will ask to be housed with their college teammate(s). We rarely accommodate such requests for the following reasons:

• Most host families house a single player
• Players are strategically housed based on transportation and medical factors
• We want our players to bond with teammates from other areas/schools/backgrounds.
