Official Scoring Disputes

The integrity of the game is paramount, and the official scorer’s decisions are made to the best of their ability. However, recognizing that disputes may arise, this policy outlines the steps to handle such disputes reasonably and efficiently.

Initial Dispute Submission:

  • Notification of Dispute:
  • If a team manager disagrees with the official scorer’s decision (e.g., a hit vs. an error), they must notify Greg Diener by 11:00 am the day after the game.
  • Only team managers are permitted to file a dispute; players are not allowed to do so.
  • Manager Consultation:
  • Within 24 hours of receiving the dispute, Greg Diener will contact the manager of the disputing team and the opposing team’s manager.
  • Each manager will be asked to describe the play in question.
  • Decision Making:
  • Greg Diener will decide based on the input provided by both managers.
  • The original scoring will stand if a clear decision cannot be reached.
  • Greg has the final decision
