About the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League:

The Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League (HCBL) is a premier summer league sanctioned by the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball and Major League Baseball. The league brings together top college players from across the country to compete in a highly competitive environment while engaging with the local Long Island community.

Internship Overview:

This internship provides students with hands-on experience in sports management, marketing, and community engagement. Interns will work directly with league administrators, general managers, coaches, and players to support the league’s daily operations and enhance the fan experience. This role is ideal for students interested in careers in sports management, event planning, marketing, or communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Game Day Operations:
    I assist with setting up and breaking down home games, managing field and fan logistics, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring the smooth execution of game-day activities.
  • Sponsorships & Marketing:
    Help fulfill sponsor obligations (e.g., signage, announcements), assist with sponsor outreach, and support execution of marketing initiatives to drive attendance and community awareness.
  • Community Outreach:
    Coordinate and promote free youth baseball clinics with players as volunteers; manage communication and scheduling with local organizations and families.
  • Social Media:
    Create and post engaging content across HCBL platforms (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook), including real-time game updates, player highlights, and promotional graphics.
  • Merchandise Sales:
    Manage merchandise tables at games, track inventory, and assist with cash handling or mobile payment systems.
  • All-Star Game Coordination:
    Support planning and execution of the HCBL All-Star Game, including logistics, communications, and on-site assistance.
  • General Manager Support:
    Work closely with team general managers on day-to-day tasks, including scheduling, roster management, and administrative support.

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program eligible for academic credit
  • Strong interest in sports management, marketing, or event operations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
  • Reliable transportation to travel between fields and event sites
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks
