Player On-Field Guidelines
Uniforms, shoes, and equipment must always be clean and in good repair. Caps should fit and be in good condition. Only wood bats are authorized to be used. No composite bats are to be used at any time.
All players shall wear clean undershirts of our uniform color and the appropriate protective equipment.
Helmets and catcher’s gear should fit properly, clean, and in good repair. It is required that catchers wear helmets and that all catchers have a built-in or attachable throat guard on their masks.
Players must be in full and proper uniforms that conform to League standards when on the field. Dressing should take place before arrival or in the facilities provided.
Tobacco products and eating are prohibited on the field, on the bench in the dugout, and in the bullpen area. A NO TOLERANCE policy of tobacco use or on your body will be enforced.
Throwing equipment, offensive language, arguments, and fighting must be halted promptly. Players or team coaches and managers who violate League rules may be ejected from games. The field manager or general manager should report player ejections to the President within 24 hours.
Players ejected from games:
- First Ejection suspension for next game
- Second Ejection suspension for next three games
- Third Ejection is indefinite suspension; reinstatement is only after a full investigation by the League.
Penalty for pitchers intentionally throwing at a batter will be in accordance with NCAA rules.
Players are responsible for being available and present for all of the team’s games, practices and community service events.
Any player who does not comply with the above is subject to suspension from the HCBL for the remainder of the season plus the following season. After a suspended player’s term of suspension is completed, his case will be reviewed by the League’s Executive Committee to determine his eligibility for the following year.
